teresacfreitas 90 days into a simple challenge with @vsco: make one photograph every day (and share it!). The last month of three, in Japan.
I quickly realised that not every day would end with a great photograph, and I definitely didn’t stop having the pressure to make one. But I did stop feeling like only the “best” images were worth sharing somewhere. Having one photograph that takes me back to each day now feels pretty special.
Many evenings chasing blue hour on this last stretch...

teresacfreitas *I Wonder Whose Skin This Crimson Flower Will Touch* is the first book of a series on flowers by @teresacfreitas. The concept: one country, one flower, one book.
Taking a primarily documentary approach, the photographer has been exploring flowers for several years—the trades that revolve around these delicate plants and the people who cultivate them. The publication presented here is composed like a poem, in a more abstract and wordless manner, to convey a unique mood and atmosphere.

I wonder whose skin this crimson flower will touch est le premier livre d’une collection sur les fleurs, par Teresa Freitas. Le principe : un pays, une fleur, un livre.
Dans une démarche d’abord documentaire, la photographe s’intéresse depuis plusieurs années aux fleurs, aux métiers qui gravitent autour de ces plantes si délicates et aux personnes qui les élèvent. La publication présentée ici est elle composée comme un poème, de manière plus abstraite et muette, afin de traduire une ambiance et une atmosphère particulière.

This is month two of three. For someone like me, photographing this way has been surprisingly difficult but also refreshing. A constant reminder that some images (and some days) are better than others, but that there’s usually something worth saving from each day.

teresacfreitas So happy to share that my first exhibition in Japan, “Meeting Point”, is currently on view at @leica_camera_japan Omotesando Gallery in Tokyo.
Meeting Point brings together images taken in different parts of the world, exploring how colour, form and light can create unexpected visual connections regardless of distance.
Another exhibition, Colour Matter(s), will open at Leica Gallery Kyoto on May 16th. The exhibition considers colour not as decoration but as structure, shaping the way we perceive an image.
We’ll also be hosting an artist talk at each gallery to speak more about the larger body of work these series emerge from and, of course, colour. Hope to see you there 👋🏼
